Bad News Regarding
Lake Worth NOAA Station
http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/station_page.php?station=lkwf1
Is out for a LONG TIME!
Steve Collins [Steve.Collins@noaa.gov]
The public pier on which the station was located was destroyed by one of the hurricanes. Repair/replacement of the pier is not under our control and we are not optimistic that it will be repaired anytime soon. We are investigating alternatives, but at this time we have no estimate on when the situation will be resolved.
Regards,
NDBC Webmaster
As a Florida Diver - I'd use this station frequently to get the wind speed and
direction prior to going on a dive. Winds out of the east at 15 knots generate
6 ft waves and you should probably not be out on a boat!
