Adventure Scuba
, 800-221-5420
This dive boat and this dive location is
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Dive #1:
Adventure Scuba - Juno High Ledges My Dive # 152
A. Dive Location:
Juno High Ledges - drift dive!
B. Conditions:
Visibility:
40'
Seas:
With winds predicted to be SE at 15, but we lucked out, the sea was perfectly
FLAT!
Water Temp:
78 - 82 deg (not as cold as we expected)
Skies:
SCBS - Sunny Clear Blue Skies!
Air Temp:
low 90's
C. Dive Information:
Depth & Time:
Me: Genesis Nitrox Dive Computer - 84' for 37 min, Me: Analog - 84',
Dive Partner: Computer - 81' for 39 min.
Air consumption:
Me: 3700 lbs - 1300 (120 cu ft).,
Dive Partner: 3230 - 750 lbs (80 cu ft).
Current:
None - Zilch!!!
Description:
Although this was suppose to be a drift dive - there was no current! Past Juno
Ledge's dives have had a rip-roaring current and it made for a really great
dive - especially with the 10-30' reliefs! This time we had to work - we had
to swim!!! Well the dive was great. The view was great - lots of big rocks,
valley's, etc. Lot's and lot's of small fish! We attempted to get one bug -
the bug withdrew back under a big rock. TJ tried to get it and got hung up on
rocks and fishing line! This is a great spot to dive, if the current is moving
it's even a greater dive! All-in-all the dive rated as acceptable!
Dive #2:
Adventure Scuba - Loggerhead My Dive # 153
A. Dive Location:
Loggerhead Reef - drift dive
B. Conditions:
Visibility:
40'
Seas:
With winds predicted to be SE at 15, again the sea was perfectly FLAT!
Water Temp:
72 - 78 deg min on the bottom, a little colder than the previous dive
Skies:
SCBS - Sunny Clear Blue Skies!
Air Temp:
low 90's
C. Dive Information:
Depth & Time:
Me: Genesis Nitrox Dive Computer - 75' for 36 min,
Dive Partner: Computer - 72' for ?? min.
Air consumption:
Me: 3300 lbs - 800 (80 cu ft).,
Dive Partner: 3130 - 1080 lbs (80 cu ft).
Current:
None - Zilch!!!
Description:
Again, although this was suppose to be a drift dive - there was no current!
The relief's here are not as great as at Juno Ledges. There are some 10'
ledges. Again, we saw one bug - the bug won out. We also saw one 200 lb
Jewfish! It waited till the group was within 10' then vanished in a big hole
under a ledge. We looked in but could not see him again. This fish would have
made Grouper Sandwhiches for many families for many weeks!! This dive was over
mostly 5' releif's and there were lot's of areas of grass. A stronger current
might have helped. My personal opinion is to dive Juno Ledges twice!!!
