Description:
Well we had three on the boat for this trip. Capt Bob stayed on board and I
had a new dive partner. We went down the anchor line to Sand! I thought I saw
some reef to the west and started swimming to the west. My dive partner tried
to pick up the anchor and move it - I tried to tell him to leave it alone!
Well, swimming west, I came across some reef and was out of sight to my
partner. I followed the reef into the current, to the south. The relief was
very pretty - up to 10 to 15 feet! There were several Bit Ray's around. These
were over 10 feet wing tip to wing tip and 20 - 30 feet in total length! Not
knowing if there was a stinger in or near the tail, I kept away from them.
There was the Rock and Rope. The Rock was flat and maybe 40 feet by 20 feet,
with three big rays on top. It was 1 - 2 feet above the rest of the reef. It
didn't take long to see some bugs at the edges of the rock. But, every time I
went for a bug, a Big Ray would swim near me - I'd backed away. After a while,
I tried to forget them and got some bugs. With a tank starting to empty, I
headed up. It turns out the other two divers missed the reef line altogether,
they played in sand!

Another drift along some reefs - some bugs!! In fact, this dive, I came across
a lobster hotel, lots of bugs under a rock. My partners left me and I spent
almost the whole dive pulling Bugs from this rock. I drifted for about 5
minutes after cleaning out the rock and found two more Big Bugs (4 pounds
plus)! This dive, I came up with a bag full of bugs! Great Dive, Great Vis!!
