July 2005. : Hey, we're planning a trip to the Galapagos and we have either 1 or 3 spots left on the Peter Hughes boat (waiting to hear back from two people). Cost is:
$3511/person for the boat, diving, food, alcohol;
$35 Chamber fee;
$100 National Park fee;
flight from mainland to Galapagos (around $300-400);
two nights hotel on mainland Ecuador ($100 or so per room);
flight from US to Ecuador ($500 or so or FF miles);
tip for the crew (recommended at 10% of boat price but up to you based on service received).
Total of around $5k or so per person , but worth it for the type of trip Peter Hughes gives you and for 10 days in the Galapagos!!! The cabins that are left are Twin cabins and sleep two. lsmit@harris.com
