Dive #5: . My Dive #499
A. Dive Boat / Location / Date: Conch Republic / The Duane / Sunday Morning, 24-July-2005
B. Conditions:
Visibility: 30 -40 Feet, I've seen Top-To-Bottom before, so this was poor vis to me!
Seas: 6 - to 12 [ Inches that is ]
Water Temp: 82 on the bottom with Real Warm / Hot on the top.
Skies: Sunny, Clear Blue Sky's - Typial of Florida!!
Air Temp: Low 90's
C. Dive Information:
Depth & Time: Me: Genesis Nitrox Dive Computer - 100 feet for 37 min, % NITROX
Air consumption: Me: (120 cu ft), 3900 lbs to 00 lbs, PO2 1.12 Current: Strong, you had to hold on with both hands to the mouring line going down to the wreck and back to the boat. Decoing was "Interesting". Current on the boat also was strong.
Description: We moured on the Center line. This was interesting and a PITA. This was the first time I saw the Bridge and some of the upper superstructure. If you go down on a Bow or Stern line you usually don't go up the center sections as you will not have enough bottom time to go back down to the deck to go back to the bow/stern mouring lines. The line was attached to some kind of a mask with stairs et al inside. It was not a smoke stack. It was filled with lot's of fish. We stayed at that deck level and went back to the stern part of the upper superstructure then back to the bow end and then back up . Lot's of fish.

Description: We moved to the bow line the game plan was to go down the bow and up the stern. This is a recommended fun way to do it. We went up to the bow sprint and stayed most of the dive up there looking out at the Cuda out there. They hardly move at all to stay in place in the 1 - 1.5 knot current. One Big Cuda had a 4 ft fish hook and line and a pink feather lore hanging out of it's mouth. There were at least 3 more cuda also with fish hooks and leader hanging out. One came close enough that I could almost reach the leader.
