surge as you approached the shore
Description:
Well, this was an early dive! We were entering the water at 8 am. Just as we
started to go in, the waves picked up to an occasional 2'er! It's real easy to
use up 1000 lbs of air trying to put on your fins and get out past the surf. A
reminder to those 1st time beach divers - put on your mask and breath from your
reg as you go in! A sudden wave or slip and you could be on the bottom! We
worked our way out to the 4th reef (my 1st time to the 4th). The first is a
strip of grass, the 2nd some rocks, the 3rd has some relief and the 4th some
bigger bolders. There's no color as in WPB. We saw some small fish! There
was one 2' Snook - Hmmmmm - goood eating. Three undersize bugs under a ledge.
A typical Pepper Park Dive - had better, had worste! The shower afterwards was
cold! The food afterwards made up for it.
Were planning lots more beach dives this year. We'll be working our way up
north, diving the wrecks, looking for gold! We might be able to supply a boat
(s) for some dives! We've got a list of dive sites between Sebastian Inlet and
Ft. Pierce - Ships, Gold, etc!!
